Senior Alterations Tailor
Full-time · Reinach, Aargau (Switzerland) · from January 2027 or by arrangement
We are looking for a highly skilled tailor to take charge of a long-established alterations atelier in Reinach, Aargau. The atelier has served its clients for 23 years and works closely with Ideal Tailoring. The work ranges from everyday alterations for men and women to fine work on luxury menswear and bespoke commissions. The atelier is due to become part of Ideal Tailoring GmbH, and the successful candidate will run it day to day as a salaried member of our team.
The role
- Run the atelier day to day, from greeting clients to final hand-over
- Carry out alterations of every kind on menswear and womenswear: hems, taking in and letting out, zips, linings, leather
- Handle fine alterations on tailored menswear: suits, jackets, overcoats and shirts, including waist, sleeve and shoulder work
- Assist with bespoke and made-to-measure commissions for Ideal Tailoring, including fittings and finishing
- Advise clients, take measurements, manage the diary and order materials
About you
- At least ten years’ experience as a tailor, with alterations as your core strength
- A proven track record on high-end menswear
- Bespoke or made-to-measure experience is a plus
- Able to run an atelier on your own and take full responsibility for its output
- Right to work in Switzerland, or EU/EFTA citizenship
- Fluent English is essential; German and Italian are welcome
- Precise, efficient and dependable: quality is non-negotiable
- Well presented, with a natural ease in dealing with clients
